Okay, I’ll just say it…

Lemongrass Milk Pudding, as a concept, does NOT sound appetizing to me.

With that said, the tea itself isn’t so bad! It’s very lemongrass forward but that should be expected given the name and dry leaf visual. The coconut comes through strongly too, and I can taste the FAINTEST hint of funk from it aging but it’s not so bad, and probably played up in part from the citrusy notes of the lemongrass. There’s a floral undertone with is nice too, and compliments the lemongrass well. It’s not as light as a lot of the “fruitier” teas from Deb I’ve tried, but it’s not intense either. Not really a pudding, in my opinion – but a tasty Thai inspired flavour combination!

This was a free sample that I requested with an order after one of my Instagram tea friends told me it’s her favorite tea from Deb.

I quite like it, though it’s an extremely light tea. Sometimes I enjoy having a delicately flavored green tea in the afternoon, so it makes sense to me. The flavor is a light and airy combination of fluffy coconut, lush jasmine, and herbaceous lemongrass. There’s just a little bit of ginger here as well, but not enough to overpower the other flavors. I’m not a coconut lover, so I appreciate how restrained it is here, it just adds a lovely creaminess and a touch of rich coconut flavor.

Honestly, I didn’t realize how much I enjoy this one until I started writing this note. Maybe I’ll have to put it on my wishlist for a reorder…

Ooh, that sounds nice! I do love lemony, creamy things.

Cameron B.

It’s not really lemony, but it does have a slight citrus note from the lemongrass!

L is for… Lemongrass Milk Pudding!

This isn’t my favourite tea, but I am a big fan of the coconut/lemongrass combination in general, and this one works fairly well for me. Don’t really taste anything beyond creamy lemongrass, but that’s fine with me. This tea, however, does not resteep well at all (not that many greens do, but this one is particularly bad).

I like this one hot, but cold brewed it tastes like many other teas from Dessert by Deb. Most of the blends I picked have some combination of maple syrup, coconut, citrus, and/or brown sugar. This tea has a couple of those (coconut/citrus profile)! This isn’t too much of a problem for me because I love maple syrup, citrus, and coconut but I do have to space out drinking these, as they get kind of samesy.

When it’s hot, the jasmine, lemongrass and ginger peak through and play off the sweet and creamy coconut nicely. The sencha is a mellow grass, and the profile is cooling despite being a hot cuppa. When it’s cold it’s mostly coconut, and that’s too bad. I’d probably rate the cold brew as a 60, but the hot one is to my tastes so far! I’ll give it a rating once I finish off the pouch.

Also, the tea pouch recommends steeping this one at 200F and I can’t “nope” that enough.

Steep Count: 2 hot cups, and 1 cold brew jar

Flavors: Coconut, Ginger, Grass, Jasmine, Lemongrass

Preparation
175 °F / 79 °C 1 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 12 OZ / 354 ML
gmathis

Sounds like a good summer choice!

Yes, this one was a bit inconsistent but usually refreshing :)
