I used 1.75 tablespoons for 375 ml

Much creaminess and very authentic cantaloupe flavour. I’ve noticed that this tea is difficult to measure out with a tablespoon as the leaves are quite large. It may be best to measure the concentration of this tea with a mass per ml ratio. I will be looking to invest in some kind of tea scale in the future.

Meeeee to! Keepin my eye out for a sale :)

Kittenna

Pretty sure my scale was fairly cheap. Like, $20 or under. It was for Christmas, so I don’t know for sure.

Indigobloom

Not bad! I’m hoping for $5 tho, my Prof said that’s how much he got his for so fingers crossed

Courtney snuck this into our swap and I am SOOO glad she did. This is AMAZING! As my first taste of a Butiki tea, I am definitely not disappointed. This tea manages to be light while still having an amazing creaminess to it. And it actually tastes like cantaloupe. I can definitely see why people love this tea and love Butiki teas in general. If all the teas are even half this good I will be placing an order in no time. Thank you so much Courtney!!!

This is a good intro to how awesome Butiki teas are!

VariaTEA

I am definitely happy that this was my introduction. I worried that it would not live up to the hype but it definitely does.

Sipdown! I cold steeped this overnight, and had some of it today. Sadly, cold steeping brought out a bitter tinge that I really didn’t like. Good thing I didn’t chuck my leaves! Trying another overnight steep to see if that works.

Between this and Watermelon Xylophone, I definitely prefer the watermelon. Probably because I like the base more. Silver needles are just.. more. Thicker, sweeter, better.

Plunkybug

Really? I prefer this over the watermelon.

OMGsrsly

I don’t like bai mu dan, even if it’s really nice bai mu dan. :) I also don’t really like melons. I might have a couple pieces of watermelon and one cantaloupe a year. Maybe. I think I like Watermelon Xylophone so much just because of the base.

All the hype has came down to this one moment. I just got my expedient package of gracious samples from Stacy at Butiki Teas.‘We was giddy as schoolgirls reading the names of and smelling the selections recieved. The leaves are beautiful and you can see that there was great care taken in the packaging not to damage them. On with te drink.
Dry leaf smells scrumpteous, though I’m running off of memory. You see, my wife whisked the samples from the mailbox and started the tea in a flurry whilest I was waking. I got a quick whiff and then the finished product thrust in my face. That aside I still have a great tasting note to share (great in the sense of the tea, not my writing). Color is a golden brown. Due to just waking I won’t bother mentioning wet smell(nose wasn’t working yet).
First taste I am impressed by just how how creamy this really is. A vanilla flavor almost sweet enough to compare to ice cream, yet still light and airy. Speaking of that there’s a subtle silky dryness with thirst quenching attributes. This tea is a gulper!
It took a few drinks for the melon to come out, but it definitely showed up. The afterflavor is pleasant and leaves you wanting more. As I said in my last note I don’t gravitate toward flavored teas normally, but maybe I will start to branch in that direction.I’m getting ready to start my third steeping. Thanks again Stacy for a wonderful sample that I was glad to write a note on

tunes&tea

Thanks Helena, did you start with pure teas initially also?

Autistic Goblin

well since I was little I drank some tea (from bags) and then recently I discovered loose tea, I started with Adagio (didn’t like 95% of their stuff) then David’s Tea came to Winnipeg and while looking up reviews I found steepster :D which helped me discover this really awesome tea and others :D

You know that feeling when you drink a tea and feel like you’ve reunited with an old friend? This is one of those teas for me. I don’t have it often but every time I do, I can’t help but slow down and savor it. It’s so creamy and juicy, yet so light and subtle and natural. It’s an oasis in the middle of a busy afternoon. I would never ever have thought a cantaloupe tea would become such a favorite, but I guess tea love is blind!

Additional notes: Sad sample sipdown! I wanted a white tea tonight, so here you go. How could I forget just how delicious this one is? And even though this has aged a while, the flavor was still the same as when I tried it before. (The memories came back.) …which is amazing considering Butiki only uses the best natural ingredients. Definite cantaloupe, definite cream on a lovely white tea base. I steeped the tea for 3-4 minutes after waiting around 40 minutes for the water to cool after boiling. Seemed perfect to me! So so good!

Thank you to Purrfect Cup for this tea to represent Eight Maids a’Milking in our 12 Days of Christmas Tea Swap! Yay! I have been wanting to try this forever … but somehow I always forget to order some when I place my orders with Butiki Teas!

This really is a perfect tea to represents eight milking maids. It’s so creamy and the cream taste here reminds me very much of the flavor of raw milk. I have not consumed a lot of raw milk, but, there were a couple of times in my youth when I visited a neighbors farm at breakfast time and I was treated to a glass of raw milk.

And the cantaloupe is amazing in this as well. The moment I poured the hot tea into my teapot, I could smell the cantaloupe – the aroma filled my kitchen. The flavor of the cantaloupe develops, with the first few sips of this being more about the cream than the cantaloupe, and now that I’m mid-way through my cup, the cantaloupe seems a bit stronger than the cream.

So yummy. YUM!

Kittenna

You hadn’t managed to try this yet?!

LiberTEAS

Nope, not until this evening.

Wow… Haha

First review. Visually this is the prettiest loose leaf tea I’ve had. It almost looks like baby’s breath laying on some grass. The liquor is lovely yellow and the fragrance is truly real deal melon. You know that by now I’m excited to try this tea. Cantaloupe in the Springtime and Cream! Uh!
The first taste is heavenly, smooth and creamy with a cross between cantaloupe and honeydew melon. You would expect a nice light flavor but this is more than that. The melon coats your mouth with silky smooth flavors and lingers there a minute, continuing to remind you of the creaminess. The next time I have this tea will be with my son next week. I am going to have salty Halloumi cheese from Cyprus which you can pan fry for breakfast with pita bread and olives. This Cantaloupe and Cream Tea would be delicious to play against the cheese. This is a superior melon tea. I’ve tried others that fall flat by comparison. This is very good!

TheTeaFairy

Love this! I’ve been on a Cantaloupe frienzy lately, buying it, freezing it, and making smoothies and ice cream out if it…. now in my tea?
And Ooh, Halloumi for breakfast, what’s up with that? I have to stop reading you, my stomach hates you, it wants some now!

Kittenna

Majorly lusting after this one. Eventually I will acquire it!

Bonnie

Actually halloumi and watermellon is good (fry the cheese) and have Greek olives, pita bread and if you don’t like coffee I think a strong Puerh latte would be excellent! Need some Mediterranean music! Let’s dance! Opa! Everyone come to my house! I have gyro meat in my freezer for next week!

Daisy Chubb

Wish I could be there Bonnie! :D

TheTeaFairy

Don’t say it if you don’t mean it, I’m only a plane and a few hours away!

Azzrian

Well I attempted to acquire it …. probably a sign not to spend my money what little I have left of it. I do not like sites that use paypal shopping cart as I ALWAYS have trouble with them. If you are not fast they time out emptying your whole cart. So I went fast … put my items in and not once but twice paypal said I timed out while in the process of paying! Took me seconds to enter my password. SIGH I really wanted to try this stuff and a few others. Its a sign I say a sign!

Bonnie

I don’t have a paypal account and used my ATM card but. I know that with paypal you can’t make changes or you lose your order.

Azzrian

Well my issue was that as I was adding new teas to my order my cart kept emptying lol then I finally put them in fast enough so that I beat it from getting emptied THEN when I went to pay it would not let me pay haha. I will try again soon – this sounds far too good to pass up!

I have wanted to try this tea for soooo long. I finally ordered some :] The aroma is very sweet and the dry leaf is beautiful. I’ve been trying to find a good melon tea and I think I found the winner! The flavor is amazing. It’s sweet, creamy, and the melon flavor is perfect. It tastes EXACTLY like cantaloupe and it’s very creamy and smooth. The flavors of the white tea really compliment the melon flavor. I’m really happy I ordered this :] MMMmmmm
