2021 Sipdown 44/365!

One-day hiatus from the alphabetical Ode to Tea, mostly because a) I was not prepared enough for it and b) it was a very very busy day, spent mostly at my MIL’s house, and the teas at her house, again, did not begin with the correct letter.

I guess I hadn’t reviewed this before (but do have an unopened or nearly full pouch somewhere else too) – it’s nice enough. Rooibos without some of the less appealing, medicinal qualities; no scratchy throat either. The maple is also pretty good. I drank it alongside another “sweet-flavoured” tea so can’t be sure which was the source of the delicious aroma, but it also could have been both. I’d have this again as a nice caffeine-free treat.

Yay, it’s finally approaching cool enough temperatures to break out the fall teas. This is one of my favorites. It fills the room with the smell of maple syrup. Even without any additions, it brews up nice and sweet (presumably the sprinkles contribute to that sweetness so I don’t think of this as a sugar-free option). It’s mildly nutty too. This reminds me of a caffeine-free version of Butiki’s Maple Pecan Oolong, which was one of my all-time favorite fall teas.

Sipdown (375)

This is significantly better hot because it is not as cloying. However, hot, it is still more rooibos and maple than anything else and I am left feeling underwhelmed. Oh well.

mmmm this one was another sample from VariaTEA (there are a LOT of them…) and this one is more up my alley. The creamy maple goodness, along with that AQ2T baked good flavour was just the thing for this evening. I like this one quite a bit, though i’m not sure if i need it in my cupboard more often.

There aren’t THAT many! And I still haven’t tried this yet.
