When I purchased this tea, the sales associate instructed me to steep it with butter or coconut oil in order to activate the cannabinoids. I tried butter and steeped the tea by itself and drank it hot. The taste was literally just what you would think it would be- buttery grass. I love earthy and grassy green teas and oolongs, I search high and low for grassy matcha, but the flavor of this tea was too grassy even for me. I instantly started playing around to find a way to make the taste tolerable because I really wanted to reap the benefits. My first switch was from butter to coconut oil. The great part about coconut oil is that it adds in the coconut flavor, and as a lover of coconut, that helped a lot. If you’re not one to play with blending your own tea concoctions, this is how I suggest drinking this tea- in a teabag, with coconut oil, make sure the oil is put in the bag with the tea leaves and leave the bag in the cup while drinking.

When I tried this blend iced however, I fell in love. The pomegranate, apple, pineapple and rose just blend together so perfectly. A nice iced cup of this is hydrating bliss to me. The flavor is very tart and lightly floral with a fruity sensation at the forefront.

The flavor of Candy Cane Crush is overall extremely minty and sweet. The flavors blend together well to produce a creamy, dessert feeling sip after sip! Personally, I like to enjoy a few cups of Candy Cane Crush each winter season, but its rich flavor is strong enough to satisfy my craving of mint chocolate with a single cup.

As the name suggests, Caramel Shortbread has an extremely creamy, sweet flavor. Shortbread is one of my personal favorite types of cookie every holiday season, and I find with this tea that the creamy caramel flavor is much more present than the vibe of a shortbread cookie. That being said, while this tea is certainly sweet, it’s not so sweet that it’s a turn-off.

drank Sunny C by DAVIDsTEA

When I tried this tea hot, I didn’t really get a hint of any flavor. So I took another cup, added a few ice cubes and poured the hot tea over ice. After letting the tea mellow out for a bit, I came back to a refreshing glass that brought back nostalgic memories of orange lollipops from my childhood. Sunny C was very sweet and very citrusy, but not in a sour way.

The ingredients featured in this blend in many ways seem completely odd when put together but somehow, they just work so perfectly! When hot, Alpine Punch has a great sweet, fruity flavour. Personally, hot is the way I enjoy this tea the most. However, after sipping on many a cup of Alpine Punch while working at DAVIDsTEA, one stuffy, busy holiday season, I decided to give it a try iced with a little agave. I was absolutely shocked at how great it tasted- almost like a fruit punch with a dash of coconut! This just goes to prove that the complexity of Alpine Punch is highly versatile and a blend that hot and iced tea lovers can enjoy together!

The overall flavor of White Cranberry Bark is sweet and tart with a hint of creamy white chocolate. In my opinion, the white chocolate flavors are more of a subtle after taste, with the tart cranberry and accompanying fruit, taking center stage. I love drinking this blend warm on a snowy winter afternoon, and have even used it to substitute dessert after lunch! If you enjoy a tangy warm or iced cup, this versatile blend is the one for you

After reading the ingredient list, it is no surprise that this blend is super spicy. I personally think this tea has two purposes: 1. If you can stomach the strong flavors, this blend would be great when you’re experiencing a cold or digestive issues given gingers strong anti-inflammatory properties and purposed dietary assistance. 2. If you love chai, this strong blend really pushes spicy tea to its limit, and may just be perfect for you!
