drank Honey Bee by DAVIDsTEA

I don’t like Mate, or rooibos. So I have been procrastinating drinking this tea for a very long time.

It smells absolutely amazing, like straight up honey. It tastes even better. It taste’s like candy, but without the sweetness. Like the flavor of honey mixed with cotton candy, yet somehow it is not sweet on my palate.

You can taste the rooibos, but the honey flavor is so dominant, that it just adds a bit of depth and richness.

drank Something Different by 52teas

A fruit salad tea.

This is a bit of an odd tea, It claims to be something different, and it is, but it is not exactly what you would expect from the description. I expected it to be spicy, with long pepper, cayenne pepper and black pepper.

It is not spicy.
It is also not peppery.

It has a slight sweet tulsi taste, which is similar to the other 52 teas with tulsi.

The most prominent flavors are strawberry and banana.

Wait……. there is no banana in this tea?? It taste’s like strawberry banana jello.

It is a very drinkable tea. If you have tried any of the tulsi teas by 52teas, chances are you will like this as well. I do recommend it iced rather than hot, it just suits the fruity flavors!

Roasted tea and maple, this is simply delicious.

No Question, this is a maple tea. As soon as you open it, you are hit with a very strong scent of maple. The brewed tea is overwhelmingly maple flavored. Luckily, the tea is not sweet, and the roasted genmaicha flavor gives it depth so the maple isn’t overpowering.

If you like maple, and I mean really like maple, you will love this tea.

Oh, and the marshmallow? Non- existent. It could be hiding behind the maple, but who knows.

ICED or HOT?
Surprisingly, both are equally delicious. Hot, it is a delicious winter treat, making me thing of boiling syrup out in a snow covered woods.

Iced it is cold leftover pancakes (yum).

Flavors: Maple Syrup, Toasted Rice

If you like Ice tea, this is the best tea related purchase you will ever make.

This thing is so easy to use, it makes perfect tea every time, it’s fast and easy to clean up.

Where I live, you can buy cups of ice from a convenience store, and make ice tea on the go.

I would have given it a perfect 100, but the lid is a flip top, and is not very secure, so it will likely leaky if sideways.

Can confirm that it is very leaky, but I still love mine! Just beware the leaks, I trailed tea all through WalMart before realizing it had fallen over in my purse >.<

drank Daydreamer by DAVIDsTEA

A punch in the face of mango.

David’s tea has and has had a number of mango themed teas. I am fairly certain i have tried all of them, what sets Daydreamer apart, is this is truly a Mango tea. It is an absolute smack in the face with mango flavor.

The mango flavor itself is pretty natural, there are notes of artificial flavor, but it is not overly offputting.

It takes a second steep of the tea to even begin to taste the tea that is the base. On a third steep, it still predominately Mango.

So, I like this tea, but I do wish it had some more complexity and subtly.

Mediocre mint.

This Herbal tea is supposed to be mint and chocolate! It taste’s solely of mint. If you brew a strong enough cup, there are hints of white chocolate. But really this is a straight up mint tea, with no real other flavors.

Also, the white chocolate can make it a bit greasy, and give it a slightly odd mouth feel (particularly when iced).

I really like mint tea, so I find this tasty, just completely unremarkable.

There is something just off about this tea.

Conceptually, I like the idea of a cucumber, mint and lime tea. Its sounds refreshing. The initial taste is strongly of cucumber, however after that there is this very odd flavor. I think it might be whatever was used for the mint flavor, it is bitter and weird. It really throws off the taste of the tea.

The tea is definitely tastier iced than hot. Mostly because cucumber is a bit of an odd flavor to have hot. Sadly the off putting secondary flavor is very strong whether hot or iced.

This tea really shines iced. Caramel Apple deliciousness….

I am nearing the end of 50 grams of this tea. It has taken me a while to get through it, primarily because it is mediocre when hot. It is an artificial apple tasting tea, but a nice artificial apple flavor. It drinks well, but nothing i would ever reach for.

However, when iced, a whole other flavor profile arises. The tea base itself becomes much more prominent with deep caramel richness, and a hint of apple.

How can such a delicious tea go so wrong?
Everything in this tea I like conceptually. Even kombucha.
However, all the components are so disparate, that it taste’s like a mess.

The most prominent flavors are over ripe strawberry, ginger and stinky kombucha. The result is undrinkable (hot or iced).

There are not many cups of tea I will dump out. This is the 3rd time i have done so (attempted 3 different brewing conditions)

Flavors: Ginger, Strawberry

Thank goodness, I thought it was just me. I made a cup yesterday and ended up tossing the brewed tea and the rest of the dry leaf I had in my stash (only another cup or two, but still). It was just awful.
