drank White Ginger Pear by Tea Forte

This is a light, subtly juicy tea, perfectly refreshing and with the satisfaction of a true pear, even breaching into summery watermelon territory. Sweet and light, yet full bodied… a fine iced tea.

drank White Ambrosia by White Lion Tea

I rarely keep flavored white teas around, but when I do, they’re White Ambrosia. It has just enough flavor and lift from the coconut to be pleasant, no sign of crassness or acidity from the pineapple, and the flavors do not overpower the delicate tea. This is exactly what I need on the very rare occasion that I just need a little blink of energy at 4 or 5 pm.

drank Coconut Oolong by Rishi Tea

This tea— milky, creamy, smooth, light, subtle— is to me what I’d imagine sunlight to taste like on an Island morning. I am not even joking. Nope. No exaggeration here. Literally, it is that good. A wonderful representation of a scented Pouchong! A world-class ambassador for flavored teas.

drank Vanilla Mint Chai by Rishi Tea

Best blended Pu-Erh I’ve ever had! In fact, it lacks a lot of pu-erh qualities of earthiness, but retains the absolutely richness of liquer and smoothness of body. The vanilla and mint mingle and slide together into the most perfect representation of tea as dessert. Amazing first thing in the morning.

drank Sencha Vanilla by T2

It is a pleasant green tea with the roundness and softness of vanilla. Simple as that. Don’t over-steep it.

drank Melbourne Breakfast by T2

I rate this highly for a black tea. This was one of the first black-teas I really could get into, picked up in Melbourne and sipped lovingly all the way up the coast and into the Daintree over the course of a month. It brings back fond memories and I’d love to have more of it. Another fine tea from T2…

drank Sleep Tight by T2

This is my favorite ‘sleepy’ tea, completely free of Chamomile, which is what I search for. This sets the bar for ‘night time’ teas for me (as opposed to simply herbal— I consider the use of ‘calming herbs’ to make a tea a night-time tea).

This is a brilliant night-time herbal that is completely free of chamomile! Almost as good as T2’s Sleep Tight.

Bio

I am a Tea and Chocolate Specialist in Texas, proudly employed by a large organic retailer. Also an artist, also would rather be barefoot.

I favor greens and spiced tisanes, pouchong oolong and a good white tea, but I’m not a big fan of fruit teas or hibiscus. A black tea has to be very very special for me to like it.
