So glad to have tried this unusual tea. Love that. It has a beautiful almost-floral scent like jasmine. Should be brewed at white tea temperature (170-180)

I did not know this and boiled it, and it’s a bitter cup. But I won’t hold user error against the tea. Properly prepared, I can tell this is going to be delicious.

Nothing about this tea really says pumpkin. The main flavor is the black pepper. I did quite enjoy it as a chai though. It tasted good both with and without milk and both lightly and heavily sweetened. It’s a versatile tea, and really quite enjoyable. I couldn’t point out any specific flavors other than the black pepper. Thanks to amandastory516 for the share!

Maybe it’s just me, but I think chai should lead with the flavor and follow with the spice. Too many blenders do vice versa.

drank milky oolong by Whistling Kettle

This was the first milk oolong I ever got. This was even before I really got into oolongs, I just was intrigued by the name of it. This is a whole leaf tea which made me appreciated tea leaves and oolong. It brews up this beautiful green color. The taste of this is out of this world. It is a versatile tea. I would brew this gong fu style and I could stretch for it for 10+ infusions, I would brew it western style and it was still great but brought a different personality to the tea. I would also brew this grandpa style. It was light and refreshing and bright. It was always forgiving when I would forgot about it for a while. The flavor is not too milky or artificial. I have bought every milk oolong I have come across and none is as good as this one. There are a few that come close but this one will always have a place in my heart.

I think the owner of the WK is making his own now as I’m pretty sure it used to be billed as “Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Chai” and was from one of the bigger wholesale companies. But this year it tastes much different and much better. More pumpkin that’s for sure! And let’s be honest tis the season for all the pumpkin. Plus the spices are on point…almost like drinking pumpkin pie with more spice to it. I am so here for that!

Flavors: Pumpkin, Spices
