This bright bright gunpowder tea brews into a nice golden cup of black tea with a pleasant earthy aroma. The tea is not very astringent, or bitter. It gives a mellow cup with a medium body. A perfect cup for a cold snowy afternoon.
Preparation
This is a black and green tea with peach flavor. You tell when you look at it the black leaves, green leaves, and the peach flakes. I’t smells abit like peach. I steeped it for a short time. It mainly tastes like a green tea with a black aftertaste and abit of peach. The green tea kind of clashes with the black tea and there is just not enough peach. This was just decent.
Infusion 3. Really light. Should have stopped at 2:( I really wish the coffee beans were as big in the tea as they are in the pic.:( Since the 3rd infusion is pretty weak, it’s a good tea for a person who likes just a cup or two of coffee in the morning before moving on to something else because you don’t have to work about wasting endless infusions just to switch teas.
Preparation
This is my after-lunch tea today and it’s not tasting good to me. I may have put a bit too much leaf in my mug but it’s tasting like bleh! The muscatel is hard to find in amongst the rest of it. It could be dried lawn leaves for all I know. I’m not sure I’ll finish this. I liked it ok the last time I had it, but not this time.
Preparation
I’m not a huge fan of darjeeling tea but it’s growing on me. When I do drink it I gravitate towards the 2nd flush varieties as they are less “grassy” flavored. I decided to order this one based on the description. It’s described as a high elevation Himalayan foothills variety. I enjoy Nilgiri teas for their higher elevation growths contributing to a milder less astringent flavor. The description doesn’t say more specifically why it’s a “blend” other than maybe they mixed with darjeelings from several farms/estates. The brew from this has a medium muscatel flavoring that is mild and tasty, not astringent and quite nice. I think I steeped it longer than I wanted to but it still tastes very nice.
