I was out shopping today and found this tiny little tea bar tucked away in a tiny little market in Manchester. They had 60+ teas, so it took me a while to decide, and I eventually settled on this one, since I’ve been dying to try it for ages.
This had a nice black tea base that supports the spices well. The chilli is very, very strong, which is good, and it adds a nice little kick to the back of the sip. I liked this, but I think the ‘chai’ bit could have been a little stronger.
I’ve just placed an order with TeaPigs and don’t you know.. My Grandma brought this for me when she visited yesterday! Now I have 2 packs of most of the stuff she brought with her.
Anyway, this is a pretty good tea, in my opinion. The darjeeling is a nice base and it has some of those typical bright notes which linger in the mouth. The bergamot isn’t overpowering. Overall a refreshing tea.
Yummy! This is so good. Rich and chocolate-y!
This is one of the best chocolate teas that I’ve come across. The chocolate is smooth, rich and delicious. It doesn’t come across as too sweet, and there is a slight bitter cacao note in there too. It reminds me of one of those fine chocolates you might taste at one of those fancy, expensive chocolate shops!
YUM! I want more!

Thanks to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me some of this tea!
I’ve reviewed this tea previously here:

This is a really bold, gutsy breakfast blend – and I am not exactly sure why I chose to drink it at 4:45 pm. But it is good as a late afternoon tea too! Deliciously malty. Brisk!

Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending this my way!
Tonight… at 11:30 pm… I’m indulging in a late night snack that I really shouldn’t be indulging in – fried green beans with wasabi ranch sauce. So to offset the side effects of the wasabi (ie: heart burn) I am enjoying a cup of Lemongrass to tame the tummy!
And it is a delightful pairing. I like the contrast of flavors.
This lemongrass is deliciously smooth, sweet, and has a very pleasant citrus tone. YUMMY!
Preparation
My boyfriend and I both enjoyed Yogi Tea’s Licorice Mint herbal tea and since we recently ran out I wanted to try this out to see if it would make a good replacement.
I could actually see the contents of the bag – it’s one of those pyramid-style sachets – and there seems to be quite a large amount of shreded licorice root in the blend. The taste bore that out as it was quite sweet, certainly sweeter than the Yogi version. It’s on the edge of being too sweet and probably would be if I steeped it any longer – thankfully I looked at the steeping directions on the box rather than just giving it the standard 5 min steep I usually use for herbals tisanes.

Needless to say, any tea by a company that calls themselves “TeaPig” can’t be less than absolutely fabulous. And Silver Tips White Tea lives up to the TeaPig standards!! I had a cup today! So lovely! Will have to have another cup tomorrow!
Preparation
Well, Colored Me Surprised!
I really thought this was going to be pure hibiscus! I’m glad I was wrong! This was very good!
I can taste mostly elderberries and currants and blueberries! THEN the slightest hint of cranberries. The website said this has raisins in it but the wrapping doesn’t mention it…just for the record I cannot taste raisins. The Hibiscus is accompanying the berries but really isn’t much of a tangy/tart factor in the taste…it’s more fruity and berry like than hibiscus.
Pretty darned good!
Okay…so…Yerba Mate. I don’t want to say I don’t like Yerba Mate…but there hasn’t been many out there that I would run out a buy. I’m not saying that I would by this one in bulk either BUT…this is a nice cup of Yerba Mate! No funky taste or aftertaste or aroma! That’s always a plus in my book! It tastes like a paler herbal so it’s not overly flavorful. Based on my personal search for a yerba mate…this has to be one of the better ones to fit my palate so far.
Not that I’ve tried a ton of mate, but the one I always go back to is Samovar’s Peppermint Mate (gotten with that sample pack of a several different kinds). Something about the mint really brightens it up. It’s still very vegetal, but in a calming way.
I was worried about this one when I smelled it thinking it was going to be all spicy and nothing else but it’s not too shabby! Yes, there are spices present…but…There is a smoothness and sweetness that punch thru that make it really nice. The aftertaste is almost wine-like. Glad I got to try this!
This smells like a chewier Darjeeling and bergamot. When I taste it – it doesn’t really taste chewy at all. It tastes like a stereotypical Darjeeling…I suppose. The Bergamot isn’t over powering at all. There is a slight bitter Darjeeling aftertaste that seems to linger that wasn’t there while sipping.
I’m adding this to my “OK” Pile. There isn’t anything wrong with it…it just didn’t WOW me!!!!
A little room temperature air does this good. The more I sip this the more I like it. For a more lengthy review…check this out…

Nom.Nom.
There are only 2 ratings on this one…both really low. One of them…short, but sweet – they didn’t feel it was for them. Fine. I get that. The other…someone said it was a good black tea and it was great to dunk biscuits in BUT gave it a 29…so I am a little confused by that rating…I’m not being picky or negatively commenting on someone else’s tastes – I would never do that! Just noticed/observed that.
Anyways…
I can smell a bit of chocolate and it brews into a nice dark brown liquid. I agree with that same person who rated it a 29 in saying that it isn’t overly chocolaty-sweet. Or “Sickly Sweet” like they mentioned in the description. It’s a bit sweet but it’s also a little bitter – but in a good way – maybe to tone done the overall sweetness. The flavor isn’t overly so – so it’s pretty good but not intense chocolate – if that is what you are specifically looking for.
As Teapigs state themselves, ’you’ll either love it or hate it’, I am certainly a lover. It does have quite a strong taste to it which I enjoyed, however my partner didn’t (yay, more for me!). If it helps you to detox and lose weight, even better.
