The combination of rooibos and spices seems to create an orange aroma and flavour, giving this blend not just clear spiced notes of cardamom, but a citrus twang too. This combined with the rooibos, which isn’t apparent until the finish, turns the cup into a naturally sweet and warming tea.

Was given this as a sample by the lovely SuperStarling! in my new sample box she sent. This was nice. I don’t normally do a flavored puerh but if I’m going to, Orange Chocolate is a good place to start. I love the flavor combination of Orange and Chocolate and I feel it translated fairly well to the puerh.

Not sure if I would actively seek to buy a bag of it but… I might!

Aroma: Milk chocolate sweetness mingled with the citric scent of oranges.

Flavour: A generic fruit flavour, that becomes more distinctly orange-like the further down the cup you venture. The chocolate elements serve to add a sweet warming coating to the taste without making the tea very chocolatey. The pu erh tea creates a layer of depth, with a rich, earthy and somewhat spiced note that makes each sip taste like a moist fruit cake.

Final Thoughts: The taste is deep with a little complexity, making it an enjoyable and warming cup. Perfect for dark chocolate lovers, the short brisk days of autumn and those looking for a new way to enjoy pu erh tea.
