This my first tea from the extravegent SweeTea package from the graceful and grand JacquelineM! I was having the worst Valentine’s Day when I got her package just in time for tea! We had rose-lavender chiffon cake with cherries which would’ve gone well with all the teas she sent so I immediatly reached for the most relaxing and comforting smelling tea.

This is great sakura green! Definately not the most complex sencha but the buttery, mellow base works perfectly with the gentle, misty sakura flavor. The scent envelopes one while drinking, shutting out stress for a few moments. It was a quick cure for the frazzled lethargy that settled on me yesterday. Wonderful, simple and clean, just as sakura sencha ought to be. Its beautiful floral taste shone even more against the thawed false spring that was leaving towards the end of the day. Thanks again!

Was in the mood for a little more tea this afternoon. Very much in a sweet mood today, apparently, as this is my very sweetest (and PINKest!). I love the flowery cherry flavor, and the fact that the green tea is light and pleasant.

Cause Jacqueline refuses to rate her own teas, I shall do it for her. I’d say this is an 85-90 tea. Apparently she hearts this tea.

I had the SWEETEST thing happen to me – my coworker’s boyfriend, who loves tea, and who I regularly pass a few ounces of tea here and there to through my coworker, stopped in the office and presented me with a big bag of this tea!!!!! He thanked me for the tea that I have passed on to him, and wanted to return the favor.

It is a green tea and there are tons of rose petals in it – the cherry rosy fragrance from the dry leaves and buds was intoxicating! I thought that a short steep time would insure that the rose didn’t become cloying and “too much” – I think it worked! I’m tasting a great cherry flavor, and the rose is present, but not in a frightening way :) It is very flavorful, but I can’t taste the green tea at all (which can be a good thing as far as I am concerned). Also, the tea brews PINK (In fact, it’s making me bounce in my seat and say “Peeeeenk! Look, my tea is Peeeeeeenk!” I think this tea out froofs even the Rosy Earl Grey.

That being said, it’s not anything like the other cherry blossom green tea I’ve tried: Ceriser de Chine. This tea is anything but subtle. This is the American Screaming In Your Face cherry blossom tea, as opposed to the French Exquisitely Blended La De Da cherry blossom tea. That’s ok – there’s room for both!

Second steep just as Peeeeenk and Tasty!!!

I think the fact that it’s such an incredibly thoughtful gift makes it taste extra good, too :)

Glamorosi – he told me this is from the little Tea Leaf stall at Reading Terminal Market – he also brought Flying Monkey cupcakes from RT. What a sweet guy!

Excellent – I will make a point of buying some on my next Reading Terminal run. Enjoy your cupcakes!
