Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending this to me!

This is one that I hadn’t tried before from Tea Forte. It has a nice mango flavor – although it isn’t incredibly strong. The green tea is smooth and mellow and really pleasant as an after dinner cuppa. A nice buttery finish.

drank Flora by Tea Forte

Colour: Light Red/Pinkish Ruby
Aroma: Smells like Christmas..cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar
Taste: Fruity, astringent, slightly sour

Seems to be a disconnect between the wonderful warm homey smell and the sour fruit tastes. Looks good, smells good, tastes like SNAP!

drank Jasmine Green by Tea Forte
4843 tasting notes

As a jasmine lover, I was a little surprised to see that this tea wasn’t yet on the website – I remedied that though!

(Thanks to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me this sample!)

The dry leaf has a very pleasant yet somewhat subtle jasmine aroma – The fragrance of the liquor becomes much softer almost to the point of being non-existent but not quite. I generally do prefer it when the liquor is a little more fragrant than this, but there is something about this aroma that is intoxicating, even though it’s quite subtle.

The flavor is so lovely. Sweet jasmine with a hint of sharpness (but in a good way). The Sencha is smooth and vegetal – slightly grassy but not too harsh. It has a very nice sweetness that makes me want to keep sipping and a beautiful feminine quality that makes this taste so luxurious and indulgent.

Thank you so much to AmazonV for this loose-leaf sample. I concur with her review/tasting note except that I think I liked it better. The raspberry tasted a bit more true to me and the color of the brew is a luscious ruby red.

I also agree that this will be better iced. As a hot herbal tea, it really is not bad. Once again I am reminded of how much rooibos can interfere with flavors. No rooibos here, thankfully. This will be a contender for purchase.

This is a very good Sencha. No bitterness and a nice nutty flavor. It’s pleasantly rich and smooth. Not at all grassy.

wow! welcome to nyc’s horrible transit line. woke up with 3 snoozes, the subway didn’t stop at my normal stop so i had to grab a cab so i wouldn’t be late to work. i know this is supposed to be a “tea note” but of course i am ranting because who wants a thursday morning like that ! geez. so to calm myself down i listened to some good old david bowie and am making myself a cup o tea.

hmmm maybe this wasn’t the best choice to brighten my day. i thought the floral would do a nice pick me up but i wasn’t too stunned with the flavor. it wasn’t really green and it wasn’t really floral. it was hardly and oasis… meh i guess i will have to revert to my favorite genmaicha later.

So sorry about the crap day :( I hope that it got better and that you did indeedy-doodle have some better tea!

drank Black Currant by Tea Forte

Sweet and fruity! This is one of the better black currant black teas that I’ve tasted, and definitely one of my favorites from Tea Forte. The flavor is smooth, no bitterness, and a pleasant level of astringency.

Very nice indeed!

drank African Solstice by Tea Forte

To review this tea, I decided to once again utilize my awesome Tea Forte Cafe Cup!
Tea Forte’s website recommended steeping this for at least five minutes, so I poured just boiled water over one pyramid bag and let it steep. The teabag actually remained in the cup for six and a half minutes, but I figured this would not be an issue, as most rooibos blends rarely oversteep.
The dry leaf smells delicious! Lots of tasty smelling berry aroma.
The liquor brews a deep, dark red, very nearly the colour of some red wines. While it still smells like berries, the berry scent has changed to smelling very nearly like juice.
The taste of the steeped tea is very smooth, with a fullness that is neither thick nor watery. The finish is much stronger in berry flavour than is the taste while on the tongue, as though the dominant flavour migrates seamlessly from rooibos to berry.
The smell of this tea was far more bold than the flavour, almost making it a bit disappointing to drink. (I guess I shouldn’t let the aroma set my expectations.)
All in all, it was a very tasty tea. Wonderfully fruity, the hint of the rose petals that are part of this tea even peek out in the aftertaste.
On my personal enjoyment scale, I believe I would rate this tea a 75/100.

drank Silk Oolong by Tea Forte

Oolong with a bit of cocoa prior to infusion. After infusion – oolong and slightly vegetal-sweet. The liquid is light yellow in color and it is sweet in taste and very light – or should I say delicate??? This is nice but pretty pale in flavor. If you’re up for something mild this may be it.

This is a good standard bagged Formosa Oolong. I steeped earlier and had an emergency and am drinking it cold now…not too shabby

drank Black Currant by Tea Forte

Medium orangish-brown in color. Smells a bit like currant jelly or jam. It’s a bit more flavorful taste-wise then sniff-wise. This isn’t bad…actually I kind of like it! I think it’s one of the better flavored ones from Tea Forte that I have tried.

drank Orchid Vanilla by Tea Forte
1908 tasting notes

The fancy teabag/pyramid/thing had a wonderful fragrance when I took it out of its packaging. The vanilla was deliciously fragrant and smelled like actual vanilla bean rather than some random perfume or extract. I could smell the tea base underneath which had an oddly lightly spiced sort of scent. I had to concentrate for my nose to pick up the coconut, but I think I detected it up. There’s something about coconut that just seems to blend really well with vanilla.

Unfortunately it pretty much all vanished as soon as the water hit the teabag, and just smelled like steeping tea. The taste of the tea started off rather weak and somewhat flat and only slowly did the flavour creep in, first the tannic flavour of the tea (which was fairly gentle and mellow compared to many of the bases used in flavoured blends – a point in this tea’s favor) followed by a sweet, vanilla-ish flavour. It’s not really the bursting-with-vanilla-flavour taste I was expecting, and it was kind of a let down in this regard. Not really getting the coconut flavour either.

This tea might benefit from adding a bit of sweetener and possibly milk too, although I think it would have to be steeped longer, as right now I think it’s too mild to stand up to the milk. It’s not a bad tea – it doesn’t have me jumping for joy, but it’s a nice easy-drinking black tea.

Dry Scent – right out of package – 80% ginger, 20% Pear
During Steep Scent – 70% Pear, 30% Ginger
After Steep Scent – 50/50

Color is a pure yellow with a little tint of brown-ish green

Taste is VERY surprising yet JUST what I wanted out of it! You would have to like Pear to enjoy this. It’s primarily pear with ginger helping it out JUST enough!

As it cools I can taste a little bit of blackberry and the after taste is a sugary-floral linger.

This is MAYBE my favorite from TeaForte SO FAR!!!!

drank Raspberry Nectar by Tea Forte

Loose Leaf not teabag

Steep Information:
Amount: 6 tsp
Water: 750ml filtered 212°
Tool: Breville One-Touch Tea Maker BTM800XL (herbal, strong)
Steep Time: 5 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: Raspberry, but the fake flavor kind not fresh berries
Steeped Tea Smell: fake raspberry flavor (exactly like the torani syrup)
Flavor: RASPBERRY, and tart
Body: Full
Aftertaste: tart
Liquor: Opaque dark purple-red

Raspberries, check. Tart is the hibiscus, and probably the color too, the citric acid and orange are also tart. Not getting what the rest of the stuff is doing.

This reminds me of raspberry zinger, I think mixing this with a bit of lipton, or maybe some Rooibos Tropica.

Hopefully it’s better iced, because right now it’s nice, but not anything I’ll buy again (too many fun herbals out there!).

drank Ginger Lemongrass by Tea Forte
788 tasting notes

Steep Information:
Amount: 1 teabag
Water: 6 ounces filtered, boiling
Steep Time: a little over 5 minutes
Served: Hot

Tasting Notes:
Dry Leaf Smell: ginger and lemon
Steeped Tea Smell: lemon
Flavor: lemongrass
Body: Medium
Aftertaste: slight ginger tang
Liquor: cloudy yellow-green

Meh, it tastes good enough to drink, and is a bit more of a peppy tea than most caffeine free blends. I don’t love it, I don’t hate it. I think it needs to be a tea complimenting something, lemon cookies perhaps, rather than the main attraction.

drank White Ginger Pear by Tea Forte
5 tasting notes

First, this tea was visually appealing and packaged as part of a sampler box (great gift). I love the Tea Forté silk pyramid bags and although the string is a bit short, find that they steep nicely in a large teapot.

The Ginger Pear was mild on the ginger and just right on the pear. This combination can be spicy and overpowering, but I’d say they got it just right. It is a medium amber brew that was perfect for breakfast, and then I re-infused it throughout the day for lunch and afternoon tea.

This tea helps me imagine what it must feel like to be a light and airy summer dress hung out on a clothesline in the back rose garden. Fresh and bright.

A good go-to black bagged tea. I would say towards the beginning of the “strong strength” spectrum. I’m not sure about the floral notes comparison mentioned in the product description but it’s pretty tasty regardless!

drank White Ambrosia by Tea Forte
1812 tasting notes

I was really excited to try this tea, as I have a love for white teas that is unfulfilled much of the time. Tea Forte’s website says that this tea is supposed to have vanilla, coconut, and fruit flavours. To start with, I am already a bit apprehensive about the coconut, since the last Tea Forte tea that I tried with coconut ended up with the coconut taste and smell fading away quickly.
Upon opening the tea bag container, I could smell the vanilla a lot. The coconut was very prominent in the scent, though the underlying hints of fruit (mango especially) definitely came through.
The website recommends steeping 2-4 minutes, so I decided to go for a happy medium of 3 for this first steep, in a single Tea Forte Cafe Cup.
While the tea was steeping, I thought I would inspect the packaging. Inside the cardboard tea bag container, I found a lot of tea dust. The leaves in the pyramid bag had sadly looked a bit crushed and small. I also found a couple pieces of tan fuzz in the container, which was weird.
Mmm, the smell of this tea is a delicious medley of fruit and vanilla and…barely any coconut. The taste of this tea is very fruity, but not so much that it overpowers the white tea aspect. Vanilla tones float along and mingle wonderfully with the fruit, and comprise much of the aftertaste. In fact, the fruit flavour is reminiscent of a tropical trail mix of dried fruit. One can taste the coconut, but it is not prominent at all now.
Truly, it is a delicious tea. I’m not disappointed at all. The smell is sweeter than the taste. As my friend who tried this tea with me said, “You smell the flavours more than you taste the flavours.”
This tea would taste excellent iced. It is certainly something I would recommend, especially for lovers of fruity teas. On my personal enjoyment scale, I’m going to give it an 80/100. That fuzz was just really strange…

Not bad. I got these during a swap from another site. It is nice, solid, and smooth. The flavor is mild and not very intense. The bag it comes in is pretty; although, I’m not a huge fan of teabags. I didn’t use any sugar or milk as this tea didn’t need it at all. It wasn’t sweet though, but it wasn’t bitter at all either. Nice tea.
