10 Seconds rinse – Smell earthy, resin and brown sugar. Many bubbles while I’m pouring the tea. Colour is a kind of brown gold, tea soup is clear and transparent.

Steep #1 3 min. : Sweet and fruity, trying to find the name of the fruit, I know it but can’t seem to remember or is it a sweet vegetable? It is yellow, kind of soft, like cantaloup but it is not or maybe it is a cooked cantaloup. I think it is closer to a cooked pumkin. Also, taste slightly resinous.

Steep #2: 4 min 15 sec. : Slightly sweet and resinous. A slight tingling sensation on the second brew.

Very mellow, and smooth with some dryness. Tea that mainly warm my face.

WATER USED : Naya Natural Spring Water

With this one, it is hard to get the same taste every-time. I must say, this cake doesn’t taste as good as the 2007 Yunnan Liming Raw Pu’er Tea by Liming Tea Factory that I bought at Berylleb King Tea on ebay. So, I must lower my rating for this one.

One 15 seconds rinse, 1st brew 3:00 minutes: Small first sip taste earthy, resinous with a hint of bitterness. It is less tasty than the other brews that I did in the past. As it cool down it is more sweeter without bitterness and the earthy flavour is almost gone.

2nd brew at 4:00 minutes: It taste the same as the first brew.

Water Used: Nestle Pure Life

I tried this tea again yesterday and today. I’m so surprise, I brew exactly at the same parameters than the first session that I had with this tea around 16 days ago. The smokiness is almost gone to be replaced by a kind of candy flavour that resemble a mix of black liquorice and juniper. It is sweet, resinous and only a bit smokey. All the others flavours honey, bitter, floral… are almost inexistant – just a hint. I have to up the score on this one from 69 to 72. Will see if it remain the same taste…

Smokey, Earthy, a little bit vegetal and smell like melon with some dryness. The smokey taste are not too much overwhelming, as you brew hotter the smokiness increase. I recommend to brew 250 ml of water around 200F (92.5°C) and steep the leaves for 1 min. 40 Sec and at 195F for 1 min. 30 sec. if you don’t want the smokiness. Add 25 sec. for subsequent brew. At time you can taste a little bit of honey with slightly bitterness. There is an aftertaste that I like but I cannot identify. As it get colder you can taste the minerals. Medium finish with a good balance, sweetness increase as you brew additional cup. WATER USED: Nestle Pure Life
