This is my all time favourite Earl Grey. They’ve let the bergamot come through without sacrificing the delicate nature of Darjeeling. Beautiful.

A very light tisane, which may have something to do with the large size of my mug. But it’s good to have a light chamomile tea because sometimes the herbal taste of chamomile can be really intense (to the extent that it’s bitter) and off-putting. This Ronnefeldt’s version is slightly sweet and therefore more drinkable.

Not my favourite… though I like the bergamot fragrance, I am a bit bothered and puzzled by the faint vegetal taste in the Assam tea base. :0

This was an okay mint tea. At first I couldn’t taste the lemongrass at all, but it became more noticeable as the tea cooled. It’s grassier and sweeter than pure peppermint… and I decided that I liked the latter better :P

This is indeed a complex and nuanced Mint tea. Thank you for taking the time to pen this great review and for taking the time to allow the flavors to properly develop.

Breakfast tea is typically too strong for me, and this is no exception… perhaps it’s because I used a longer steeping time (accidentally) and a smaller-than-average teacup. Full-bodied and rather astringent. Not remarkable on the whole.

just ordinary earl grey, basic, good flavor
but in my experience, it was much better to drink it in straight
without milk or sugar..

drank Vanilla Chai by Ronnefeldt
1908 tasting notes

I actually got this tea from Teaberry Fine Teas (http://teaberrys.ca/), a small shop in Kelowna, BC. They seem to sell both Ronnefeldt teas and their own blends (I want to try their Ogopogo blend ^_~).

It was a pleasent vanilla chai, nothing too extraordinary but nice for drinking and the vanilla flavouring was nice and natural-tasting. It also brewed up very nicely as traditional-style chai latte. Yum.

Sounds like a nice dependable brew!

Not a very flavourful tea. I steeped it for more than 8 minutes but there was little flavour apart from a bit of sweetness. I then resorted to put the tea bag back into my cup and leave it there, but still that didn’t change anything. Worse of all, the lemon flavour was artificial; I was surprised that there were actually natural ingredients in this tea. :0

Thank you very much for the review. We really appreciate it and are sorry to hear that you did not have a great experience with tea. Would you mind letting us know (if you remember) where you purchased the Lemon Sky tisane? From the sounds of the review, perhaps the tisane was beyond it’s expiration date. Thanks again and should you remember the name of the store we would very much appreciate the info. Have a great day.

drank Rooibos Vanilla by Ronnefeldt
338 tasting notes

Ordering this requires courage because I have been seriously let down by rooibos and Ronnefeldt lately. But I don’t want to give up trying because I hate to miss any good tea! This time, my courage is rewarded. The rooibos has no funny vegetal flavour but is earthy and slightly sweet – which is what I think rooibos should taste. The vanilla flavour is subtle but still it is able to impress with its softness and creaminess. And this tea seems to have the aroma of toffee candy, which is why I have been sniffing all the time… :)

This tea has proved to the previously faith challenged me that rooibos + vanilla is indeed a classic to be enjoyed. Yet, it is still not as good as Teekanne’s Rooibos Vanilla Tea-Butler! Oh god how I miss it….

Thank you very much for the great review. We are really interested in learning a but more about your less than great experience with some of the other Rooibos teas. Thanks in advance for your consideration and remember, we are always at your service.

It’s almost 10pm but I am having English Breakfast! The dry leaves had such an enticing aroma that I decided to try out this tea caddy despite the risk of sleeplessness. This tea has a very lovely and natural aroma. I don’t know how to describe it – it smells sweet, a bit fruity, a bit flowery, and maybe even a bit caramel-y or chocolatey… my description is probably not accurate but I hope all these nice adjectives can give you some idea of how good it smells! :P I guess that’s simply the aroma of quality Ceylon tea. It amazes me that even plain black tea can taste so complicated and fascinating! I love love love this tea!

One of the best Earl Grey I’ve ever had. Unlike Tea Forte’s Earl Grey, it has the right proportion of bergamot. Its floral and citric aroma filled the room as soon as I poured it into the cup… hmmm yummy!!!

Hi, do you know where I can buy Ronnefeldt Tea in Hong Kong? Thanks. W.

Devilish

Hi W, I am sorry that I am not aware of any place selling Ronnefeldt tea in HK. But you can have the tea in some hotels, e.g. Langham Hotel in TST, HarbourGrand Kln.

Squeezing in a cup of this – another bagged tea I picked up on a recent trip – between multiple infusions of the Hawaii-grown black. The steeping instructions indicate 8 minutes, which sounds unusually long, so I’m going to stop at 7 minutes and see where we are.

This is actually pretty nice – it is lemony, but not in the furniture polish direction. There’s a sweetness to it as well, but I can’t tell where that is from. Other than that, it’s not very complex. Pleasant enough for a fruit-based tisane, and refreshing without being parchingly acidic.

A typical hotel-quality English Breakfast, nothing outstanding. Broken orange pekoe leaves in the bag, orangey-brown liquor, moderate astringency and a little bit of malt. They also have some herbal teas so I’ll have to try those too and see how they are.

Archimedes, Pascal, and Newton are playing hide-and-seek.
Archimedes covers his eyes and starts counting.
Pascal looks around and hides behind a bush.
Newton grabs a stick and scrapes a one meter by one meter square in the dirt and stands in it. Otherwise he does not hide at all.
Archimedes opens his eyes and looks around. Of course, he immediately sees Newton and calls “I see Newton”
Newton calmly says “But hang on, one Newton in a square meter is a Pascal!”

Ain’t that the like nerdiest joke ever?

New try. Less tea and really short steep. OMG it takes aaaages for the tea to cool down now that the summer has finally started. I took my first swim yesterday. It was awesome.

Yep this is a way to make this tea. It’s still a tad bitter in the end but it has nice milder flavors. Solid but not likely i’d buy it again…

Chuck Norris doesn’t have disk latency because the hard drive knows to hurry the hell up.

Lately i almost never put sugar into my teas but this one is kinda asking for it. At least when i make it stronger like i did this time. It starts with a slightly bitter note but in a good way. Later the other flavors come out and leave a nice aftertaste. Think it would be good with milk and sugar or honey.
Lets see…
Brown sugar first. Hmmm not really – it was better without. I think i over steeped it this time or put too much tea in it. Cuz its still bitterish.
One milk creme going in. Well better than without. Not ideal.

So the recipe for this one is to make it either under steeped or short with latte and honey.

I got tea delivery today :D Three packs of new teas – and none of them rated on Steepster yet. Funny thing – I ordered them like a month ago from an UK online teashop (http://www.cupoftea.uk.com) and i got 3 bags of German loose tea. Oh well in the end they all come from Asia anyways ;)
I’m keeping the Assam one with Irish whiskey taste in reserve cuz i got a very similar one opened. But the other two bags are gonna get opened. Maybe even both tonight.

Bourbon Vanilla does sound kinda yumm right? OK lets go…
Smell of vanilla isn’t very strong. Quite delicate even. I think that might be a good thing. Yep its a delicate black. Not malty, not too strong. I’m guessing that’s how Indian blacks are. More watery but still quite good. In a different way. Whole other flavor. I might be getting a hint of bourbon. Vanilla not much. It’s actually slightly bitter. I’ll try steeping it bit shorter next time. Might bring out vanilla and bourbon more. It’s an OK tea. Not bad at all but not sure i’d get more…

EDIT So yes turns out that the tea is quite better and not bitter at all if i steep it for like 3 minutes instead of 4

EDIT no2 as it gets colder it’s totally getting better. bourbon vanilla is starting to show. and i keep lifting the rating up ;)

Tea deliveries are always such a day-brightener :D I also get a small thrill out of adding a tea to Steepster. It’s like I’m boldly going where no one on Steepster has gone before ;)

malomorgen

On the other hand i’m always curious what others would say about some of my teas ;) Soon enough i’ll finally have some of the teas that i can actually find on Steepster. Will be a nice change for myself lol.
