Almost done with these. I added some green rooibos to kick up the flavor a notch. Yum :)

I had some “Wild Strawberry” by Adagio mixed with actual strawberry leaves from my garden. So a nice, true cup of strawberry tisane :) really liked it

Added half a teaspoon of green rooibos to this and used a lot more ginger. Much better!! :)

The mint was delicious as always, giving a tea with a very light green liquor. However, I was unable to taste the ginger. I added just two slices as to not over-power the mint, but maybe next time I will crush them to release more flavor.

Light and refreshing towards the beginning, but got more and more bitter as time went on. This was more the fault of me using my Teas Inc. travel mug though. Next time I’ll have to use less leaves and cooler water.

Lazy tea time. Got a big ole glass mug, filled them with fresh mint leaves, squeezed in a little honey and poured on boiling water. The leaves look so pretty in my mug and they stay right on the bottom where they belong. So easy! Some people call this “grandpa style.”

apt

grandpa style was coined by MarshalN

Cameron B.

Ohhh I was wondering what grandpa style meant. Does it just mean you leave the leaves in the cup the whole time you’re drinking?

apt

big mug, some leaves, boiling water, never let water level below half, ideally 2/3

madametj

Yup Exactly. You leave the leaves in the cup and top off with hot water as you drink.

I never tried it that way. I never even knew about it. I’ve tried using my mint and never felt I was doing it right since I never got much of anything out of it. How much mint do you put in the cup?

madametj

I’ll take a picture next time, but I use a LOT of leaves. But that’s just because I like to reuse them like 8 times. If I wanted one cup I’d use less. The trick to getting the flavor out is crushing the leaves in your hands to release the essential oils.

Last tea of the night. Nice, fresh mint leaves taste like summer in the middle of this million below zero weather. Ahh :)
