Lochan Teas

Dry and golden and currant-y. As cold and soggy as it is in Missouri today (you could wring the air out like a wet towel), anything with a dry feel to it is welcome!

Made a pot of this yesterday for consideration and review for itsallabouttheleaf.com. I guess the sign of a really quality tea is that even when you leave the leaves overnight, make a second steep rapidly and distractedly on a Monday morning, and drink it with cherry Pop-Tarts, it’s still noticeably excellent.

Darjeeling and pop-tarts. There you go, breakfast connoisseurs.

Aroma from the leaves is intoxicating – spicy, pungent, rich. This tea steeps into a liquor that’s a deep amber, but the flavor is modestly flavorful. Spicy notes persist on the finish, though I didn’t detect much of a Muscatel profile; it’s appealing but seems more like an everyday tea rather than a special one.
