This is a bit of an odd one, I bought it at a little gift shop in Dallas and I can’t seem to find any evidence of its existence anywhere online. Maybe its a Holiday blend? I don’t know.

Anyways, its decent enough. Tastes mostly like vanilla, I don’t really get much cranberry. Its actually kind of weak at 3 minutes, maybe I should have steeped it longer. Might be decent in latte form. Overall this isn’t really ‘my cup’ of tea, so I’ll need to find someone willing to take it off my hands.

Thanks to Emilie for this one!
At first I was very scared of this…not only because of the dreaded hibiscus but because of the near dreaded chamomile, too. There seemed to be a LOT going on here, almost too many ingredients. But…the aroma is pretty nice. Mellower than it looks. It’s not as tarty-tasting as I thought it would be, but again there are a lot of flavor conflicts, here.

It’s not bad, but not maybe fave, perhaps if they split this one in half and made it two sep teas it would make more sense.

PS: 60 rating on hot taste test. COLD this one makes me gag…oye…6 for cold

Thanks for this one Emilie

I’ve had my share of nasty Hyson’s before but I try to NOT let that bother me!

Here are my thoughts on this one…

There are hints of vegetal and lime notes on the nose.

Wow…hum…this one isn’t too bad…actually…I like it! I under infused! Perhaps that is a good way to try a Hyson! It’s somewhat sweet, somewhat creamy, a little vegetal and nutty, and even a little malty for a green. Neat! YAY! A memorable Hyson! Thanks Girl!

I’m really not very experienced at all with green teas yet, so I don’t really know what I’m talking about.

This is another tea I bought in San Angelo. While it was steeping, it seemed to have lots of bits of what I would guess are stems floating in it. This did smell really good however. Like just cut grass that would somehow taste really good. And yet, the taste was not so great. I have no clue if it’s the tea or my own fault, but it’s probably some weird combination of both. It manages to taste both weak and very bitter. I feel like I’m drinking water mostly, and what little flavor I get is all bitter bitter bitter. I will have to give this a few more tries some other time.

Hope you checked maybe for lower temp and shorter time. Seems greens are like that lots of times.

Emilie

I will try to mess around with the temperature and time. This seemed to be what most of the young hyson’s were at, so I just decided to start there and see where it went.

I found this loose leaf tea in San Angelo at the DeCoty factory. If you’re from San Angelo, you know how amazing that is. The dry smell was very sweet and wonderful. The liquid was a nice dark red color. However, the tea was very tart, almost slightly sour. I couldn’t really drink it until I put lots of sugar in. I didn’t get any of the citrus flavors. The chamomile and rose hips seem to drown out all other flavors. It’s not bad, but I probably won’t be looking to try it again.
