Recent Tasting Notes

This was the last black tea I brought with while visiting my friend yesterday.

Personally, I thought this was the most disappointing of the three. The dry leaf aroma was really pleasant with elements of honey, dark breads, and a floral element to it as well. However, steeped I felt the taste was pretty flat. Despite a bland flavour, the mouthfeel was very round and thick and it had a nice coating quality. It wasn’t enough, IMO, to make up for the too subtle taste though.

It was my first time steeping this, however, so I think there’s for sure room for exploration and improvement by tweaking amount of leaf (probably by a lot) and steep time.

Sipping this one currently! It’s got a lovely round and thick body to it, with notes that immediately make me think of fresh baked walnut bread with just a bit of honey, maltiness, and raisins. Very warming, approachable and a great cup to escape into after a very long feeling day and a somewhat stressful week. Cheers to the weekend!
