drank Apple Cinnamon by Herbal Cup

TJ Maxx find. Was hoping this would be similar to Tim Horton’s Apple Cinnamon Tea but unfortunately it doesn’t even come close. It tastes like you’re drinking a boiled cinnamon stick. The apple flavor is absent and the stevia adds an odd sweet tone. A very one dimensional cup.

drank Elderberries Echinacea by Herbal Cup

I picked up a box of this tea at Winners/Homesense quite a while ago and proceeded to drink the whole box over the course of a few months but never did write a review for it. What I liked about it was that it was mild. What I didn’t like about it was that it was far too sweet due to the stevia leaf. The sweetness overpowered the entire cup, to the point that I really couldn’t decipher any of the other flavours. It was sweet, upon sweet, upon sweet, which I found frustrating and annoying. There was a faint berry taste with a faint plant taste and I didn’t really get much of the ginger but again, the sickly, sweet taste stole the spotlight. I think it would have been really good without the stevia altogether. Unfortunately, I would not re-purchase this tea again for the simple fact that the sweetness was a huge turn-off and a major disappointment.

There’s been a bad cold going around my office and I’ve been the lucky recipient this week. Seemed like the perfect time to pull out this teabag I received in a recent swap! I’d never heard of this brand before, but judging from their website, they definitely seem to be focused on medicinal teas. This one didn’t give me any instant results (aside from a nice warm cup to wrap my hands around): it didn’t sooth my sore throat like Throat Coat does or clear out my sinuses like a straight mint tea can. All I could really taste was a vague herbal flavor and the bite of black pepper in the aftertaste; not sure what it would taste like if I were healthy!
