I’ve been on the hunt for my perfect chamomile tea. The one that isn’t too flowery, or too heavily flavored. The one that, once I find it, I’ll always keep around. I found this at Jungle Jim’s and grabbed a couple different flavors of this brand. There’s 10 individual wrapped bags to a box, and the price point is great for trying lots of new flavors. I love almonds, so I thought maybe, just maybe, I had found my unicorn of chamomile teas.
Alas, the hunt continues.
It tastes like someone soaked the chamomile in almond extract. Or that I poured straight almond extract into a cup of chamomile tea. And lots of it. There’s no gentleness to it, just BHAM, almond right in the mouth. If you can last after that, there is a lingering sweetness to it that can be nice. Still not a blend I’d purchase again, and I’d wager that it’s going to take me a while to go through these 10 bags.
Preparation
This is perhaps my favorite un-flavored black tea. I’ve always been partial to Ceylons, but this one is simply exceptional. Light, delicate flowery, yet with plenty of flavor notes. When I’m pampering myself with the best, this is the one tea I always choose.
Preparation
This is INTENSELY flavored and smells AWESOME! :) The flavored gunpowder is shiny prior to infusion. After the infusion is complete – the leaves expand quite a bit – and are still very highly scented.
The post-infused liquid is quite dark in color…probably the darkest I have seen for a gunpowder.
The flavor of this is really REALLY good…very Peach AND Apricot…equally! The gunpowder taste is present but in the background. This is a highly flavored gunpowder and I like it a lot!
OH! Well…this one just looks, smells, and sounds special! The aroma is NOT loud and the leaves are different from most greens I have seen. This ‘brews up’ darker than most greens I have seen too! As for the taste it’s great! It’s a very sweet green! Not grassy or bitter at all! Very flavorful…incredibly sweet for a green, actually! I really like this!
