Sipdown
Turns out it was the tea that was quite fruity. Generic yet fruity. With a touch of creaminess from the vanilla. It is fine for a cup but nothing special. This is a sipdown and I am okay with that as I am not sure how much I will remember this in the future anyways. It delivers what the name promises but in a non-exciting way.
This was an old fave under Teaopia. It is still a fave now. I think this will be on my list of rotating “permanents”. I generally get sick of any tea after its been in my cupboard awhile, but I’ll be restocking this one often! Closest I can get to having a constant supply.
Sighs. The ginger and fruit zing just really gets me. Happy day! :D
UGH I had a note all typed up and it disappeared on me. Not impressed :/
Anyhow. I love this tea. I WILL be ordering more. At some point.
It’s got the mouthfeel of David’s Tea former Banana Nut Bread tea. You know, before they ruined it by changing the formula. and the coffee in lieu of banana note is A-OK in my books!!
Not sure if it’s the slightly plugged nose that I have or the fact I only steeped this up for 2mins, but I’m not getting much flavour from this one. I think I really should have steeped it up longer… Maybe three? But I didn’t keep the teabag I made so I can’t go back and steep anymore… sigh I’ll have to try again.
This is delicious! Wow. I steeped this one up with 1tsp of leaves to 12oz of 75C water. And only steeped for 2mins as I don’t like my green teas to be super strong/overdone.
The base is nice and light and not overpowering. I love the coconut in it. It’s so nice and creamy and smooth. The most predominate flavour for me is the coconut, but I could see how the white chocolate is adding to the sweetness. I’m not sure if I’m getting much of the nuttiness. Maybe a little bit? But it’s mostly just the coconut. Either way, this tea is amazing. It really is like dessert in a cup. I am definitely getting more in my next order! I could see this making a fantastic iced tea too. I really love this one.
It honestly would be a great replacement for Coconut Grove from Davidstea for me, which is saying a lot because of how much I love that tea and the fact it was a white and this is a green.
I really like the black base of this one. It’s mild and not overpowering. This one has lovely cherry and almond flavour to it. It isn’t overly sweet, which is nice. This one lets the flavours come through without overwhelming in sweetness. And it has a nice balance of cherry and almond. I’m not finding one to overpower the other.
I really think this would make a great latte. I think that will be my next thing to try!
Yeah I was very surprised by this one in some ways. It was a bit weird at first that something amaretto wasn’t super sweet, but once I got past that, I was in love.
I shared this with that same coworker as the mango tea from last week. She liked it.
She likes the taste (direct quote!). It was pleasant and tangy. Very lemony. Stay tuned for updates – I’m using her to help sipdown my cupboard :D
@Evol – ha. Thanks. I try!
@Morgana – My boyfriend’s kid only likes earl grey (twinnings) and I’m allergic. I SO wish that was an option!!!
My kids just started becoming more adventurous this past year or so. Before that, they really only liked herbals.
Finally. A delish tea from my sample purchases. It really hit the spot!! Not sure I’d want it often, but it seems one of those teas that when I want it, I really do want it.
Very heavy on the lemongrass, but I’m a fan so that is ok. I do find however that lemongrass goes stale quickly so I’ll try to remember never to buy more than just a sample at one time.
It did overshadow the tea part. Hopefully the second infusion will be more balanced.
Edit: second infusion was ok. Kinda boring. Different parameters next time. Less water or hotter agua on the resteep!
First and foremost this is a marshmallow tea, not so much a smores tea. It’s a good marshmallow tea, especially as a latte but the smore elements are lacking. It was a nice tea to try but not one I reached for quickly and there must have been a reason for that but I can’t quite put my finger on why.
Check out my full review: http://sororiteasisters.com/2017/11/03/smores-from/
Ahh finally. Had this again today and got plenty of flavour. Still generic, and sourish. But the nutty hazel tones and chocolate did make an appearance… noticeably! I’m not sure what I did differently this time. Could be the cocoa bits sunk to the bottom of my sample.
I find a lot of dessert teas made by non boutique tea places are like this… but then my standards were never the same again after trying Butiki or AQ2T etc :P

loving this tea every morning for a good start of the day
So I made this to go with breakfast and then was told I was going to my sister’s house to babysit the puppy. Consequently this got dumped into a travel mug and I didn’t get a sip of it until I was at my sister’s place.
When I did finally drink this, I was trying to remember what I last had in the mug because this was smokey and I thought maybe a tea I had previously imparted flavor onto the travel mug. It wasn’t until I saw my last review where I thought a tea I made simultaneously was impacting this because it really is unexpectedly smokey.
This is advertised as being floral and sweet and I am just not getting that. It is mellow despite the smoke and that could lean towards sweetness but mostly I am not getting much flavor at all.
