No- I didnt like this tea – at all. I like chai tea bt not- BHAKTI CHAI brewed they say in Boulder; it is actually brewed in Longmont, Weld county. It was sickening- literally made me sick HOT, INDIAN SPICED, THEN SERVED COLD, ITS AWFUL.
Just also sickening- they recieved 3. MILION dollars free money from the local government- and with that money they havent hired but 3 temp workers- they havent been gracious- they are arogent- and seem to be rude and nasty- just excuse me but they have not offered one thank you back to the community- NOt one thing- just look down and the rest of the folks who dont have 3 Million extra dollars in there account.

Must I say just how gingerly delightful this drink is? The use of fresh versus powdered ginger alters the taste by leaps and bounds. My favorite afternoon pick-me-up is the Iced Bhakti Chai Coffee Blend. Thank you Whole Foods for the introduction, this my new favorite almond milk + tea concoction. Love!!

I vastly prefer the soymilk version to the almondmilk. Smoother, creamier mouthfeel, and balanced spices. Not too sweet, great with a chocolate brownie!

Flavors: Black Pepper, Ginger, Milk, Sugar

Backlog:

I found a bottle of this ready to drink chai from Bhakti in my local Whole Foods. It was quite a surprise! I have tried the Bhakti concentrates in the past and LOVED them, so I grabbed this bottle with great enthusiasm and couldn’t wait to try it.

I enjoyed it although I really prefer the concentrate because: 1) I prefer chai served hot, and 2) I liked that with the concentrate I could control the amount of milk that was added. And because the RTD is made with soy milk, it just tasted a bit thin to me. I like the creaminess of dairy. yeah, it’s not all that good for me, soy milk is better. But, I prefer the dairy stuff. What can I say?

This did taste as spicy as I remember Bhakti chai tasting, and that brought a smile to my face. Overall, a positive RTD experience.

Bonnie I like the concentrate too without the milk. Really strong so you can dilute to taste. Made in Colorado. (Just had to whoop it up for our tea industry)
LiberTEAS

It’s good without the milk too. I blended the concentrate in my blender with crushed ice once and it was fabulous.

CRAZY ME! http://youtu.be/i66vQ2EM9Z0 Monsoon Wedding Rain Song

When I review an elegant tea it takes a lot of effort. I have a disability. If you were around me you would notice that I can’t multitask and that I get ramped up or hyper until I know you well and can relax. It takes time to write and find the words to express what I want to say and feel. Then I’m drained.
So every day, I mix a hard tea to review with an easier one.

This tea is an easy review. A fun review.

Boulder Colorado is a tea lovers Paradise. There are multiple tea houses and a Tea Festival (next month). I love to go from place to place walking through the outdoor Pearl Street Mall full of flowers and fountains looking so beautiful, stopping at one tea house after another.
I found this locally bottled Iced Chai that comes in various forms. Concentrate, sweetened and unsweetened and all vegan, organic and packaged responsibly. Worth a taste, I thought, since it’s a local product.

Yowzah! One sip and Yowzah! This is some potent Chai!
There’s a volcano in the bottle! Fresh grated ginger (not powdered) and cardamom, organic fair trade black tea, cane juice, ginger juice, organic soy milk and other spices…you betcha!

If you have any trouble with your sinus’s or waking up in the morning…I have the cure!

Shhhhh….
(the truth is… this is good tasting tea.)

Really, out loud… THIS TASTES GOOD! The heat kickin, and spices
cooled just enough by the soy milk that there is mellowing at the end as though the Black Tea arrived with a caramel flourish.

I would buy this again. Actually, the concentrate where you may add your own milk of choice would be better. You could make the Chai just the strength want it to be.

Nice job for a Brewed in Boulder, CO Fresh Chai!

Skulleigh

That sounds so good! And I’m jealous that you have a Tea festival to go to! I wish there was a nice tea house here, there’s not that I can find. There’s apparently a nice (expensive) high tea at the Adolphus hotel, but it’s only certain times, and you have to have reservations… it’s a hassle, and I’m a spontaneous kind of “Oh! X is out there? I must go NOW!” kind of person, rather than a plan a week ahead person.

Thanks fort the awesome review, Bonnie! We looove that you loooove Bhakti Chai! Email me at [email protected] and I will send you some Bhakti goodies.

The best chai that I have ever tasted in my best chai tea seeking life! :) I love it because it is real chai tea! No powders or artificial flavors… Just pure and organic goodness! I the fact that the ginger is pressed. It has that good burn a hole in your chest kind of feeling to it…LOL It’s the spiciest and creamiest chai ever! I live in NYC but I’m originally from Denver so whenever I go home I have to stock up on this. I also love that fact that they have on the go bottles of it now!

Way too gingery. For hot summer, this is absurd – so much heat!! Someone will have a stroke or burst an artery from so much heat. What’s good for cold-cold winter is not suitable for BLAZING summer.

Having another cup of this today. Bhakti Chai is addictive… it’s probably a good thing that I do not know of any local place that makes these because I would want to go every day! Imagining what hubby would say to that… “you’ve got all that tea at home and yet you want to go someplace to have MORE tea?” Yeah, it would probably be something like that.

Of the three different Bhakti Chai concentrates that I had, this one was the one I was most hesitant about. Having had so many bad experiences with coffee in the past (which is what made me switch to a tea drinker), I was worried I might experience that with this… and I guess time shall tell me more about that, but for now, this is quite tasty.

The coffee lends a unique taste to this Chai – it still tastes like that original chai that I loved so well from Bhakti but with just a hint of coffee … just a little something that makes my taste buds go “hmm… that’s different!” I like it.

Having another chai latte today… this time, I sweetened it with a teaspoon of Turbinado sugar, and it’s amazing like this. I like that I can control the sweetness with this unsweetened variety of Bhakti Chai. I love both the Original and Unsweetened, but I think I like this unsweetened best.

So very delicious!

I’ve already enjoyed two lattes with this tonight! The first, I added nothing other than milk in the same ratio as the concentrate, and it was quite nice. Very similar to the sweetened, except, you know… it wasn’t sweet. I noticed that the spices were not quite as prominent when it was unsweetened, I could primarily taste the ginger and black tea. The second time, I decided to go a little crazy and add a scoop of ice cream and have a chai latte float. And it is awesome!

I didn’t add any additional sweetener to the float (except for what was in the vanilla ice cream). Yummy, creamy, a nice level of sweetness, and I love the way the vanilla sort of peeks through the rest of the flavors. So YUM!

Alannah

CHAI LATTE FLOAT. Best idea ever—you are a genius!!

Finishing off the last of this jar… and my full-length review of this chai published this afternoon: http://sororiteasisters.com/2011/03/24/product-review-original-bhakti-chai-concentrate-from-bhakti-chai/

Totally yum!

Alannah

So glad to see another Bhakti Chai fan on here!

LiberTEAS

@Alannah: I have the coffee flavored one and the unsweetened one still to try, I plan on trying the unflavored one either later tonight (depending upon how late we get home) or tomorrow…

Alannah

I haven’t even tried the different varieties (I don’t like coffee though)… I am very curious about the unsweetened one!

LiberTEAS

I don’t really care for coffee either, but I’m curious about it. Coffee usually upsets my stomach so I’m a little worried about it too… Hopefully with the other ingredients it won’t affect me.

yum! I am having a steamy, creamy mug of this latte… so good. Amazingly good. If the chai lattes from the local coffee shops tasted this good, I’d go there more often! This make me want to move to Colorado!

OMGOMGOMGTHIS is SO good!

The ginger here is much zestier, peppy-er, peppery-er… Just… more ginger-y-er! And it gives this tea an unbelievable flavor. This is the sweetened Original Chai but it’s pleasantly sweet, not overdone.

Just really good.
