I snagged this chai mix from Hilo Hattie on one of my many stops around Hawaii on a cruise. Luckily, you can also buy this online off the Hula Girl store or on Amazon.
Overall, pretty good – nice fruity jam-like taste. Bit pastry like in flavor too. It’s not perfect though – the spice is on the mild side and not too complex (just cinnamon) and very little actual tea taste – two things I think are important qualities in a chai. This mix already has sugar and milk in it so it’s pretty rich and sweeter than if I made chai myself.
But, I quite like the fruity flavor – the mango pops out more when made as an iced tea latte.
While I like the fruit flavor which is quite unique to chai blends, I’d not get it for myself again. But – I can see others who drink chai concentrates would really love this! The mix would also be great for the office or travelling.
