606 Tasting Notes
So, this one took a bit before I got any real flavour from it. I had to wait until it cooled down quite a bit and then I finally got the caramel/creamy taste that I was expecting… Given too… I did have it with dinner so that might not have helped.
Anyway, I did find it to be a nice sweeter treat. I don’t think I’ll be rushing out for this one, but it’s not bad.
In some ways I wish I had let it steep a little longer, but in some ways, I’m glad I didn’t. The strawberry is lovely as always, and the ginger adds a little extra kick to it which I really like too. But I think I have to agree with some of the others here. I think they need to take a break from the hibiscus. It is good but I find it to be overpowering in some blends, and it leaves a weird after taste.
I bet this one would be very nice without the hibiscus. I almost wonder how hard it would be to take out the hibiscus to try it.
Anyway, I think I may have to try this one iced as well ‘cause I’m sure it’ll taste good.
This one is lovely. Again, this one was bought for me as a gift from a friend.
I love this one. I probably could have made it stronger this time, but I didn’t. I only have so much here at work with me. But it is so refreshing which is good ‘cause I’m thirsty.
This one brews the colour of apple juice almost. And it has a lovely combo of strawberry and lemonade. And what’s nice is the lemonade isn’t too tart like lemonade can sometimes be.
I’ll be sad when this one is gone. I’ll have to enjoy it a little at a time.
Okay. I tried this one again today at work. I can’t seem to like this one at all. I really tried. I might need to try it with milk ‘cause this tea is just unusal to me. I don’t know what to think.
I tried it without the yogurt pieces this time ‘cause I think they curdled or something last time, but I still wasn’t happy with it. I’ll try it again at some point…
I tried this one last night for the first time. I figured that I better give it a try, as my dad bought me a whole tin! (He rocks!!).
I must say though, this tea is totally throwing me off. I’m not too sure if I love it or not yet. I drank it last night with some sugar, but I’m almost wondering if I should have put some milk in it too, which is weird ‘cause it’s raspberry!
I’m going to have to try this one again before I fully review it…
So, I ordered 25g of this and I also got a small sample with another online order that I made. I decided to try this one at work, so I brought the small sample with me.
This one tastes like Swampwater. When I smelt it in stores, I didn’t even put the two together, but now that I’ve tried it, it is amazingly similar. I love swampwater too, so that’s good. I didn’t end up getting any of the jellybeans in the sample that had, but I’m going to go ahead and buy some from the bulk barn and add them to my tea. I want to know what it tastes like with them. I bet I definitely wouldn’t need to add sugar after those things disolve. haha
Hoping they keep this one around for a while. I might have to order a tin of it at some point.
I bought this one sometime last year and after trying it a couple of times, I realized that I don’t care for walnuts that much. So I ended up giving it away to my coworker who fell in love with it. I didn’t think I would ever have it in my collection again after that… that was, until a few weeks ago when I went to Davidstea in London with my husband.
My husband has been amazingly understanding and supportive of my love for tea. He is patient with me when I tell him about more teas that I love and want to try and when I have to rearrange the cupboard for the fifth time/twentieth time to make it all fit. So when I asked him if we could go to Davidstea on the way home from seeing his family, he said absolutely. I got a bunch of small amounts of the spring collection, as he looked around. He found the glass noble travel mug and decided to buy it, which surprised me only ‘cause he doesn’t drink much tea to begin with… and by much, he doesn’t usually drink tea at all.
When we were about to leave, the lady helping us asked if we wanted any tea to go. I got an iced Pow Power, which was amazing, and he decided to get a hot Toasted Walnut, which again, surprised me, but was happy to see him trying something different.
He LOVED it. We ended up buying 100g of it for him online a few days after we got home and he just made his own cup of it this morning (we just got the order yesterday). So for that reason alone, I will keep this one in the cupboard for him to enjoy. :)
And while we were waiting for the tea to come in, he tried all sorts of other teas and have a few others that he loves too! I’m very excited to see him enjoying tea.
The smell of this one is absolutely amazing! It’s a punch of flavours all coming at me at once. It’s a strong smelling tea, which is awesome.
So I made a cup of this and added my usual milk and sugar and it’s so delicious. It’s so chocolately, and sweet. The chili flavour isn’t too powerful, which is kind of nice too. And as with all chai teas, it also has all the usual chai spices.
My next cup will be without milk ‘cause I want to see what it tastes like on its own. If it’s amazing with milk, it’s probably amazing without too. I’m so glad my husband wanted us to get this one!
Preparation
I had this one from the store as a take out iced tea, and I loved it.
It was a bit tart, but she added some agave to make it less and the pomegranate was lovely. That’s the main flavour that I could taste. I’m not too sure what silver needles taste like, so I don’t know if I could taste them or not, but as a whole, I enjoyed this iced tea.
Okay, so I’m not going to rate this tea yet.
I brought a small sample of this one to work with me to try and I thought it was very strange looking frankly. I didn’t know what to expect. So I made the tea, and I’ve tried it… it’s so weak… And then I looked at the pic of it again, and well, I know why. I only ended up steeping the fruit. The sample that I brought from home didn’t have any black tea in it. haha that would be the problem!! I only had the fruit. And while I still am getting a somewhat nice flavour from it, it definitely isn’t what I think this tea is suppose to taste like.
I’ll try again at home. This time WITH the black tea leaves in it.
