52 Tasting Notes

Thank you to Anne for sending me this sample :)

The tea leaves smell very sweet and enticing. I can definitely smell the cherry sweet aspect of it. This stuff smells amazing!

First steep : 2 minutes, 170 degrees – Not a very strong smell from the tea itself. Very light tasting. I didn’t get much cherry in the first steep, but I really did enjoy the flavor overall. It definitely has a smooth buttery taste to it.

Second steep : 3 minutes, 170 degrees – I enjoyed this steep much more! Will continue to steep for 3 minutes in the future. The full flavor of the tea really came out! I love that this tea is sweet in a way but not overpoweringly sweet and still has a light aspect to it. I’m really enjoying this one. I’ll be sad when this sample is gone.

This is my first pu-erh so I must admit I have nothing to compare it to, but I’m really enjoying this tea. I love the earthy taste and I like that it’s not too fruity. And the smell of the leaves is so beautiful!

I’m not sure if this is what I should expect from pu-erhs but if it if I’m definitely interested.

We remember being children and we know our bodies have changed, but it rarely occurs to us that there is not one cell remaining in our body from childhood. The physical matter of the child’s body is gone; only a memory remains. Every cell has been replaced by new cells. But the mind creates the delusion that this is the same body.”
