424 Tasting Notes
I would like to officially recommend that the name of this tea be changed from “Syrupy Pumpkin Pancakes” to “Syrupy Pumpkin Pancakes OMG” because that is what I say every single time the name of the tea comes out of my mouth. I mean seriously – could that sound any more delicious?

I picked this one on a whim this morning. And, I am really enjoying it. I think the flavors pop more as the tea cools. I brewed it at 195 (I always do that or my teas are too hot to drink for too long in my travel mug) and it has cooled a bit from that. I get more pineapple than marshmallow – although it’s not a sharp pineapple flavor so it’s possible the marshmallow is showing up by making it softer.
sad that i either didn’t get this one for some reason or this was the one that sold out as i was placing my order. feel like it was the latter. :(
haha it’s ok. Maybe that’s why i didn’t pick it up. large size = lots when factoring in the exchange, for an unknown tea. with any luck there will still be some by the time i get my samples and can try some out woot woot.
lol us to cad exchange is terribad atm… + shipping = so expensive. currently sending things to my tea mule in the us
I got the PERFECT tea cup for this in the mail today, so I think a blog post might be in order soon.
I was enchanted when I received the samples from Terrace Bloom in the mail. They came in a handmade paper envelope tied with twine. The letter that came along with the envelope said that it was made by a group of villagers in Yunnan using traditional methods. They also sent another one and invited me to give to a friend. I gave it to my tea friend Stephanie. Off to a great start!

AKA Dwelling sent me a sample of this tea to review. Thank you!
The smell of the dry leaf is almost overwhelmingly cinnamon. I was reminded of walking through stores where they sell cinnamon brooms – it was that potent. The brewed tea is a little less so, but still mostly a cinnamon flavor rather than black tea or orange. I don’t get orange at all. It’s not an unpleasant tea but probably not one I would reorder.
The dry leaves smelled so appeaing – like honey and flowers. The smell reminded me a little bit of a formosa oolong. The leaves are very long, twisted back on themselves, and look pretty oxidized for a first flush, with a color that has brown, gold and green mixed in.
I am having a little bit of a hard time describing the flavor, and the words that are coming to me are “high” and “clear” – which makes little sense. You can officially call me crazy now. The flavor is definitely light and subtle and might actually remind me of a formosa oolong in flavor as well due to the natural sweetness of the tea.

Hmmm I am confused. What is the strainer for on the tumbler if they say to brew all teas grandpa style?
Hmm, Teabook offered to send me a box as well. I hope I get the tumbler too – I really want to see how it holds up while I’m commuting on the train.
Today I take a look at month 2 of my Wicked Tea subscription, and try out their Cherry Rose White tea.
