drank Kukicha by Adagio Teas
60 tasting notes

Something I ordered back in September from Adagio. I wanted to give some of their teas a try based on amazing reputation I had heard, and chose a green that was particularly hard to find.

This tea… is an experience. The twigs give the green tea a nice hint of cashew/almond taste that is very feint. It’s awesome, and very light. I can’t really say anything more about it, as the tea is simple.

For newcomers, this is a definite place to start. Also, this would be excellent in any chocolate based tea lattes because of the tea’s undertones. I would probably concentrate it to do that.

This hit the spot on a nice winter afternoon while doing some reading. I found the blend to be nice and soothing, and left me with a pleasant aftertaste. As far as complexity, in comparison to Forever Nuts, this one feels a little plain. Still enjoyable nonetheless, and I would love to have another cup of it at some point to get more of the undertones. Fans of chai or coconut should look into this.

I’ve been going through my Sweet Indulgence box set that my parents got me for Christmas, and have finally worked over to this tea. It smelt awesome, and then made myself a cup of it. Like most reviewers, I found it smelt completely different from its actual taste. The pink color is marvelous, and it has a beet taste to it alright (which is where the color comes from). The taste of the herbal tea reminded me of “sweet and sour” candies, more akin to sour keys. Mind you, it doesn’t taste like that at all.

The taste was a whole other experience. At the front, you have the sour taste from the beetroot. Then, you get the sweet nutty taste from the almond, apple, and cinnamon. When I first sipped it, I didn’t know how to feel. Now that the cup is done, I want more! It’s a tricky cup to figure out, and honestly reminds me of some of the crazy things that happen in life.

It’s outstanding what tea can remind me of!

Sensory overload!

This was a nice, delicious and almost spicy cup. I just polished it off as I type this now. Unfortunately, the black tea taste is underneath the delicious chocolate, and peppermint tastes of the tea. Not necessarily a problem for most, but I wouldn’t mind being able to taste some of the base. Any chocolate mint fans looking for something to kick start their mornings will want a cuppa this.

A bit surprised by this one. I could have sworn it had a citrusy taste to it as well!! Nonetheless, the tea is very relaxing. It has a very mild taste, and the pomegranate taste isn’t overpowering at all. All in all, that’s all I can really say about Green Seduction. Those who love green tea, and who aren’t looking for something terribly strong will want to a cup of this.

It was a good cup, but nothing I can really go out of my way to have.

drank Summer Breeze by Teaopia

It’s delicious, fruity, and healthy all packed in one drink. I’m quite fond of this rooibos. It’s a very sweet infusion, so you really don’t need to add anything to it to have the flavors come through. The pear taste is at the front, the raisin and mild carrot tastes come through afterwards with a hint of green rooibos. All in all, it’s a great blend for those hot and cold days. I had a pot with someone who likes fruity tea, and we both sipped on it after new years. I find that the tea is also great if you find you need something light, and packed full of good stuff.

It’s a grand Rooibos.

For what it is, I definitely do like it. If this is all I had to drink, or the only option I had from a Tim Horton’s, I would go for this. It’s pretty tasty, and like most herbal infusions, it’s best to let it steep for a while for best taste and health benefits.

It’s not a fantastic cup, but it’s good. And given the quality of the other teas sold by the company, this one is quite nice.

I was a little put off by this at first, considering the King of Pu-Erh base that the tea has. The smell was quite delicious however, and I put the skepticism behind me and brewed it up. It makes an excellent iced cup, and a superb hot one as well. My only issue with the tea is that it really needs something to amplify the taste. Agave nectar, I’m looking at you.

drank Coffee Pu'erh by DAVIDsTEA

An ABSOLUTELY delicious cup. Flavored pu-erh is not really my niche, as this is the 2nd I’ve tried. Like the first one I had, it impresses me quite a bit. It didn’t have a fishy smell until after it was prepared, which I didn’t find surprising. It has a kind of caramel/coffee taste, and the pu-erh taste is still there. Going to give it a perfect 100%, as I love my coffee as well, and this kinda hits close. :) I can’t wait to make a latte out of this tea.

I like this one too. I didn’t expect to but it was really tasty.

drank Matcha Pinnacle by Teaopia

Unlike Teaopia’s other matcha (which is Standard), this one doesn’t leave that foul fish taste in my mouth like the former. I actually really like this matcha, and have it as a treat when I’m having sushi, or need to relax. I find that this matcha’s taste is more akin to a gyokuro taste that’s been amplified 5 times over. It’s good, but certainly for special occasions. The reason being the price. If you have the money to put down on it, or you like the matcha that much, go for it. Otherwise, go for the Standard grade and add honey.

I’m usually generous in my ratings. I like a lot of different teas, and I can appreciate different blends. I also really enjoy coffee, but tea is my niche.

On a side note, I’m not that keen on sweetening teas. I will do it where I feel necessary however. I usually mention this in my reviews.
