2300 Tasting Notes
Meh, it tastes like a health tea. There are millions of ingredients, so it’s pretty muddled. The licorice is pleasant, but it’s otherwise savory. It tastes sort of like garlic or tulsi. It’s not very enjoyable. I always try every herbal tea in a TTB, but I definitely could have skipped this one.
This is one of the worst things I’ve ever had in my mouth. So bitter and awful. I didn’t know the proper steeping parameters, so I’m sure it could have been slightly less terrible, but goodness. Other reviews I’ve seen online seem to agree about the overwhelming bitterness.
This smelled too savory, but surprisingly, it’s actually quite good! It’s definitely heavy on the umami, but sweetened, it has some pleasant complexity. I’m enjoying this more than the various flavored hojichas I’ve tried. I would totally drink this again. Very rich and satisfying. I didn’t save myself any from the TTB, but I should have.
The flavors in this tea are so hard to identify. I truly can’t tell what this is supposed to be. I taste black tea and something mildly desserty, but I can’t tell what. It’s mild and pleasant, but it leaves me feeling pretty neutral since I can’t tell what it is.
The smoke smells really strong, but the flavor is a pleasant level. It’s a little simplistic with the only flavors really being smoke and cardamom, but it’s not bad. I recently ordered myself most of AU’s flavors, but not this one, so it was a fortunate find from the tea box!
The honey flavor here is super strong. I thought I would dislike it, but actually, I sort of enjoyed it at first. It tastes really natural. I drank it cold, though I think a small mug of this would have been more pleasant than this huge one. The flavor was quite one note and became way too much by the end of the mug. Too much honey.
I didn’t expect to love this one due to the puerh base, and the puerh smell was pretty strong too. But I was pleasantly surprised! I’m drinking it warm, and it’s rich and fruity. It’s interesting! I had the last mouthful cold, and again, I enjoyed the complexity of it despite the super off-putting smell.
